Riding The Thunder by Deborah MacGillivray *print book*

Jago Fitzgerald Mershan was on a mission to invade the Montgomerie empire along with his two brothers Trev, and Des. His task was to go to Kentucky and convince a horse park and hotel to sell to Trident Ventures and then the Mershan corporation would buy the Trident stocks. It was not a difficult thing to understand, but it was done with a purpose…revenge. Revenge on Sean Montgomerie for defaulting on a loan payment purposely, resulting in the suicide of the Mershan brothers’ father. Desmond the eldest of the three vowed to run the Montgomeries into the ground, hit them where it hurts, starting with Sean’s Granddaughters.

The moment Asha Montgomerie walked into the diner, Jago knew this woman would be the thing to quench his restlessness. He craved something, it did not take long to figure out the answer was her. He should have been upfront with her from the start, but he wanted so much to accomplish his task. The woman was everything he could ever hope for and so much more. But being torn between his love and loyalty to his brother, he could possibly lose the love of a lifetime.

Asha had learned the hard way not to trust pretty men, but his entrancing green-eyed gaze was something special. They had a connection, once described as Auld Souls. He wanted her land and her body, she wanted him to give up on purchasing The Windmill and the horse farm. But what she wanted most was for him to whisper those three words hanging on the tip of her tongue.

The Windmill was a place for lost souls, even a couple which were not amongst the living. The old 60’s Wurlitzer jukebox had a mind of its own, and Asha was about to find out the reason. With glimpses of another girl’s life with her love by her side, Asha didn’t know what to make of the visions. She chocked it up to her fey intuition, but it was much more than that. It was a constant sign, and the Wurlitzer would be there coming to life and playing songs on its own accord. You see, The Windmill was haunted.

Jago did not come to Kentucky to find love in the eyes of an Irish lass, but thank fate for sending him to Nowheresville! Love is not something to be tampered with, and when Asha finds out the truth she may change her mind about Jago completely. She also has to worry about Monty Faulkner skulking around, plotting revenge against her; hopefully history does not repeat itself.

Deborah MacGillivray’s romance novel, Riding The Thunder is the second book in the Dorchester of the Sisters of Colford Hall series. Riding the Thunder is strong enough to be a stand alone book, but honestly you should read The Invasion of Falgannon Isle, it ties everything together. I could sit and read Deborah MacGillivray’s writings all day, they’re filled with love, romance, and such passion one could only hope to find in their lifetime. Ms. MacGillivray is one of my very favorite authors, she compiles humor into the stories and makes them such a refreshing read. Also, notice the cats in the books, how they just appear! The only fault I have is the silly jukebox song “Surfin’ Bird” is constantly replaying in my mind, no thanks to the old Wurlitzer!! 5 Hearts

He of the Fiery Sword by Skhye Moncrief *printed e-book*

He had no name, he was just known as The One. Scales, claws, and fiery breath made up the wondrous Gaelic Judge… Dragon. Dreaming of becoming human would soon become reality with the help of the fey named Wee Pix. Present time for him was the sixty-first century, and he was sent back in time to the eleventh century to save a Druidess that could change the path of history. Trading in his dragon form for that of a human, he travels through time with He of the Fiery Sword( a man trapped inside of the sword) attached to his side.

Solas was infuriated by her rescuer, he did not know how to treat a woman, let alone feed her on a regular basis. What was that glowing sword in his scabbard? But by the God-dess Spirit he was the most handsome man she had ever seen! Solas for the longest time thought him a cyborg because he had such strange mannerisms; however that did not stop her for falling in love with him. The Holy Light of Union would not lie, he was her soul mate. It was just going to take some time to get that through his thick skull.

Along the journey in search of the maps that were stolen from Solas, the two encounter many distractions. The fey were constantly popping up from time to time, interfering with Arthur’s mission to return Solas to her destined time in the future. They also encountered Norsemen that in Solas’ mind killed Arthur. She accepted the help of the fey Bran and was stuck on the island of the Land of Women; pregnant. Having no idea that her Arthur still lived, she was shocked when a dragon requested her presence. The first glimpse into those amber colored eyes revealed the man she had fallen in love with.

What can be done so that they can be together? Both were now immortal but the bairn would not be. Solas could never step foot on Earth again, so how can she be with the man she loves? She lost her soul mate once before, she vowed to never lose him again. And what of Arthur in his dragon form? The Gods did not seem to be in their favor….but Destiny would work everything out.

Skhye Moncrief’s fantasy romance, He of the Fiery Sword is a spectacular Irish tale that makes you fall in love with the characters. Beautifully detailed and enthralling, Ms. Moncrief’s novel is addicting! I was hooked from the beginning, and could not wait to see what misfortune or adventure was yet to come. A wondrous read through and through! 5 Hearts

Half Past Hell by Jaye Roycraft *print book*

Twenty years ago, all Hell broke loose in Chi-No, Wisconsin. The mortals were at war with the immortals or vampires, and with the now ex-Senator’s help a peace treaty of sorts was settled between the two feuding races. Vampires were now allowed to have jobs, and do much as the humans did, except they were not permitted to carry fire arms.

Now two decades have passed and it seems the ugly head of war is resurfacing from the underground. Several vampire deaths have been discovered by Chi-No Police Department, resulting in shift changes for some of the more experienced officers. When John Kilpatrick hears the news that he will be taking on a new shift as well as a new partner, he is less than happy. To Kil, vamps were just a waste and they had no place in his world.

Wulf Duvall was a three hundred year old vampire that has lived through more than one war. He will do whatever it takes to stop the vampire deaths, even if it risks his own undead life. Teaming up with his mortal partner is a chore in itself, obviously the dislike goes both ways, but they have to suck it up and stick together or all Hell’s going to break loose, literally.

The attack on Duvall from the Brothers of the Sun, was totally unexpected. Nearly killing him, Duvall did not stop searching for the reason why sucklings were dying. But with the help of a fellow vamp, Duvall discovers that in the synthetic blood sucklings were consuming, there were traces of silver nitrate mixed in. In small amounts, silver nitrate proves fatal for vamps. The new woman in his life, Veronica just happens to be the ex-Senator’s daughter; could she have set him up because he was becoming to close to discovering who was behind this crime?

Half Past Hell is an extraordinary mystery filled with bits of sex, love, deceit, and conspiracy. Ms. Roycraft captures the reader’s attention from the very start. There was always some kind of action going on, it is impossible to lose interest in this compelling story. 5 Hearts

Jaye Roycraft weaves a spellbinding erotic love story between destined lovers. Dance With Me, My Lovely was a fast-paced novel filled with delicious sex scenes and sincere tender moment that could make a heart weep. Highly addictive and expertly written, I would highly recommend Ms. Roycrafts writings to any booklover in search of a little heat. 5 Hearts

From America’s Future Leaders by Geri Ahearn *print book*

You know that old saying, “From the mouth of babes,” no not good looking women, I mean from the mouth of children. You never know what will come out of a child’s mouth at any given point in time. Usually it is in a public place where the children will say something that will make you turn ten shades of red.

In From America’s Future Leaders, Geri Ahearn has collected many different things children from age 3 to 13 have said to adults that are extremely amusing. These snarky little comments are from the children that are going to grow up and change the world, or may even become president one day.

I have to share at least one of the entries with you so that you may understand the type of book this is; and with it being the Christmas season this one is perfect.
“A few days before Christmas, a Sunday school teacher asked her class to draw the Nativity scene. One little boy drew Joseph, Mary, and baby Jesus, but also drew a round figure. The teacher was concerned that somehow the he included St. Nick. She asked the boy who that figure was. “Oh him!” The boy replied. “That’s Round John Virgin.”

Geri Ahearn’s book had me laughing out loud on almost every page. Children are so innocent, naive and funny at the age before they become teenagers. There were also cute illustrations that were pleasing to the eye. Don’t think this is a children’s book, because by all means it is not; young adult maybe. There is selective language in some of the entries but nothing too bad, if you’re reading aloud you can just skip right over it. So if you’re looking for something to tickle your funny bone then, From America’s Future Leaders is the book for you. 5 Hearts

Life’s Poetic Journey by Geri Ahearn *print book*

Geri Ahearn’s collection of poetry entitled, Life’s Poetic Journey, is a spectacular expression of the author’s feelings, experiences and observations scrawled onto the pages of this book making it a magnificent work of art.

I could feel sadness, joy, wonderment and elation emanate from within these pages as each and every poem had a life of its own, but the whole book flowed together perfectly. The poems seemed like they were placed in perfect order, telling the story of Ms. Ahearn’s life.

As always with poetry collections I choose a few that grasped my attention and make mention of them. In this case, most of the poems were very special. I could sense the author’s spirit, soul and determination. But these three brought tears to my eyes, A Lonely Soldiers Lullaby, The Miracle Rose, and Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow.

But one poem summarized the whole collection; Beneath a Poets Moon. Through a poets eyes life is beautiful, ugly, sad, or joyful and this poem is so refreshing I was happy to have read it closer to the end. For me it was like a calming right after the storm, that refreshing feeling right after a cleansing rain.

Geri Ahearn sheds light even in the darkest of places, a talented writer and exceptional person shines through in Life’s Poetic Journey. So, come along and take a journey into the mind and life of a skilled poet. I would recommend this book to anyone. 5 Hearts

The Holy G-rail by Michael Schuessler *print book*

The revered quest to satisfy your lover through her G-spot by Relating Anatomy Into Lovemaking is Mr. Schuessler’s definition for the Holy G-rail. Michael Schuessler’s informative little novella is jam packed with true life experience and tips for men and women on how to find the g-spot as well as how to self-love, warm-up, communicate, and experience the total effect of the g-spot climax.

With the help of his Special Lover, Michael explains in step by step detail the art of finding and enjoying every ounce of pleasure the g-spot climax invokes. This book is small enough that anyone man or woman can conceal in a jacket pocket, or purse to pull out in times when a little “reference” may be needed.

I would recommend The Holy G-rail to anyone trying to discover ways to spice up a relationship or are looking to heighten the sexual experience with their partner. Mr. Schuessler is a remarkable writer that really enforces the word, “hands on,” the diagrams are also helpful. There are more books to come in the pleasuring series so be on the lookout for those, but for the time being go out and pick up your copy of The Holy G-rail today and start experiencing what you’ve been missing. 5 Hearts

: Lux War: Coronation by John J. Savo *print book*

“…For my Lord, for my lover, for my brothers in the field. I will battle, I will bleed, I will never, never yield…”

A warrior sent to kill men, women, and children at the request of Her Majesty, High Colonel Aengus Lord Terae is summoned in the late of night to see the five High Mistresses of the Pentanet. He is told that the Queen will perish the following night, and upon receiving the crown, Princess Aethelania will become Queen. She will need a strong King by her side to reign over the lands, but Aengus has declined the ever so generous offer. He is in love with his concubine Porxiah, and refuses to break the pledge of love to his mate. The High Mistresses try to convince him to change his mind because Porxiah is barren, and he must continue his lineage of warriors.

Battling within himself, trying to decide what would be best for the country, should he become the King or be selfish and remain with the one woman that has always brought him peace even in the darkest of night? Someone had other plans for Aengus’ concubine Porxiah; horrible plans that would leave her to wander the planes of time forever, a soul never to be freed. That will result in bringing out the worst in Aengus; blaming and killing 9 innocent men that Aengus proclaimed guilty will forever be heavy on his soul when he finds out the truth. Who murdered Porxiah in such cold blood and stole her very heart for revenge against the Butcher of Nadan? Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

John J. Savo’s medieval fantasy novel : Lux War: Coronation is bedazzling. The characters are so animated, when the action started heating up toward the middle my heart began to pound with anticipation. It was gruesome in parts, while engaging in most of the rest. It took me a couple of chapters to really get interested in the novel, but once that was done, the story flew by. A pronunciation key is included and that was a huge help, I just wish it were in the beginning of the novel, because I did not discover it until the very end. Mr. Savo is a skilled storyteller and he is awarded 4 Hearts.

The Priceless Gift by Anna Kathryn Lanier *e-book*

Gavin Holloway was the owner of Triple H Ranch and upon some convincing of his friend Jacob, he took the extra ticket his friend offered and went on a cruise. While on this cruise he meets a woman known as Lynn and he introduces himself as Paul. The couple spends the most amazing week together; in the daytime they would enjoy the sites and each others company, and in the evenings they would spend time under the covers.

Jacob has some sneaky plans of his own to get his sister Christina Lynn Scott to discover his friend Gavin Paul Holloway upon the cruise and then again six months later. It all starts when an emergency came up and Gavin needed to pick up Christina from the airport a few days before Christmas. Christina decided to move to Montana for the time being because of her recent legal troubles.

Gavin’s breath left his lungs when he came face to face with the woman he thought about each day, the woman he fell in love with six months ago. Their relationship was completely no strings attached, but both walked off the ship wanting much more.

Christina was beginning to tire of the excuses her brother kept throwing at her. She knew he was up to something, but what and why? From the moment Gavin kissed her she wanted him with an unbridled passion, the cowboy was running away with her heart.

When Gavin sees the questionable papers lying on the kitchen table concerning his finances and the ranch he becomes enraged. He has already been suckered a few years ago by a brother and sister team trying to steal his ranch; it seemed to be happening all over again. Jumping to conclusions is never a good thing, especially this time. Sometimes a little love and trust is worth more than anything you can buy and wrap to put under the Christmas tree.

Anna Kathryn Lanier’s romantic novella is a perfect read for the Holidays. It was filled with warmth and love that would melt all of the snow in Montana at Christmas time. Fabulously detailed characters and scenery made The Priceless Gift enjoyable to read. It ended so soon, I was left wanting more. Ms. Lanier has a way with touching the reader’s heart, which is why she is getting 5 from me. 5 Hearts

Legacy of Guilt by Carol Zanetti *print book*

A young child should never have to suffer or experience such atrocities as physical and mental abuse, unwanted sexual advances, and the feeling of being unloved. Carol Zanetti recounts the memories of her life as she experienced it. Her family moved from place to place constantly leaving bills and other un-paid debts behind after her mother met and married a man named Joe.

Joe would come to be a perverted pedophile saying that all the touching and other sexual things he made Carol do were to teach her how to please a man and that her mother was aware of what was going on. Carol thought for a while that maybe her mother did know but still the feeling of disgust would never go away. She eventually grew to know this was wrong, but could not face telling her mother in fear of the outcome. Until she was 13 Joe continued his sick game, he finally ended it after 7 years; she was only 6 when it began.

Carol did not want to grow up following her mother’s footsteps, flittering from place to place, man to man, or job to job. But she found herself right where she did not want to be, taking the same path her mother had. But Carol was strong; she would eventually over come all of the bad the fates had dealt her. But she and her three boys would have to suffer and wait out the storm before seeing the sunshine.

Marrying Lew brought possibilities in the beginning, after convincing her and the boys to move to Korea in hopes of assisting the Amerasian children (Children with an Asian mother and American father) she quickly learned what a horrible mistake she made. Living in filth, eating and drinking water and food that made then very sick in the beginning, and all out living in pure poverty. Lew had really gotten her into a mess, but Carol did her best, she knew what she had to do. Leave Lew and come back to America after spending that one year in Korea.

Music brought light back into her life, sitting in her broken down station wagon, homeless, the band Foreigner opened her eyes and from that moment on she was bound and determined to make something of herself. She did not want to pass on the legacy of guilt that her mother and grandmother had passed on to her. She would never be able to forget the worst moments of her life, but she could overcome them.

Carol Zanetti’s biography is an eye-opening look into the life of a woman who knew there was better for her and her family out there, it just always seemed out of reach. I must admit the title of the book had me a little cautious, but once I read that first page, I knew that my assumptions were wrong. Ms. Zanetti recounts her life and memories just as they were, no stories were built up just for entertainment purposes, this is real life and it is just plain scary. Living in poverty, homeless, hungry and no help, Carol conquered life and left the guilt behind.

The Legacy of Guilt includes photographs from Ms. Zanetti’s childhood through adult hood, they really help you to feel more personal with Carol and develop a sort of friendship of words with her. I can not imagine living her life and being able to tell other people what she went through is just another accomplishment she can add to her life. 5 Hearts

The Language of Heaven Poetry of the Divine Vol. II by Chris Jacobs *print book*

Delving Beauty, The Kiss, Temptress Shape-Shifter of the Isles, Beauty on the Shore, and For the Love of a Girl, are but a few poems in Chris Jacobs book, The Language of Heaven: Poetry of the Divine Vol. II. My absolute favorites were entitled The Fall of Scotland, The Forbidden Love, and Resonating Beauty. I found myself in the pattern of loving the poems that were mostly about past lives or soul mates, they were breathtaking!

Mr. Jacobs includes at the bottom of his poetry little comments stating why he wrote that particular poem, whether it be from a past life, soul mate, anger, or whatever emotion he may have been feeling at the time. These comments were key factors in learning and understanding the poetry better. It gave me a peek into the life of Chris Jacobs and the kind of person he is, and the kind of person he evolved into throughout this book.

I found reading this very enjoyable while cuddled under a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate; a perfect read for a cold winter day.
Mr. Jacobs definitely has a way with words, his feelings and emotions pour onto and out of the pages. Each piece of poetry was exquisite in its own way. The Language of Heaven is versatile enough that anyone could read it and find something that will relate with them or touch their heart all the same. Well done Mr. Jacobs, 5 Hearts.

She needed to be tamed…or was it him that taming?

Sasha knew she was in love, but when he told her he quit the newspaper her heart shattered, who will be there to help pick up the pieces? Can he really handle leaving the woman that captured his heart?

Who knew a three year old possessing the Peacewatcher powers could help save lives?

He hears his supposed deceased son's voice in his head telling him what to do and then he falls in love all over again. He really needs to sit down and read the ancient Peacewatcher book, I have a feeling in the future he's going to need it.

Jacki Bentley's e-book The Horseman's Heritage is a romance novella with some science fiction spliced in. It was hard for me to get into it in the beginning but as the story progressed, I found myself unable to stop reading. The detailed love scenes and the emotions expressed by the characters made the story come to life. I hope this is the first book in a continuing series; I will be looking for it in the future. 4 Hearts

Sins of the Flesh by Devyn Quinn *print book*

Rachel Marks had no choice but to close up her dream, the bookstore she always wanted to own, The Book Nook. Now that the new bookstore in the mall with the fancy café was taking all of her customers, there was just not enough money left to keep the shop open. She was flat broke, with bills coming out of her ears and no longer had a job.

Luckily she landed a job that was far less than her dream career, but it was at least something to help pay the bills. She was a waitress at the hot Goth nightclub Mystique. That is where she met the sexy, powerful owner Devon Carnavorn; he could make her hot just by walking into a room.

Devon was not your regular night club owner, he was a Kynn, a vampire that craved sex. He had a bad reputation for having so many female lovers, once one was out the door another one would come in. He was in love once with his bloodmate Ariel, but she was murdered early on in their relationship. When he first caught sight of Rachel’s birthmark he knew she was a gift from Ariel. And no matter what, he would possess this woman and bring her into his world.

Rachel is introduced or shall we say thrown into the Kynn lifestyle. A night of orgies and sex, bloodletting and wine could change Rachel’s safe world all in a matter of hours. The symptoms were already starting. No matter how much she cared for Devon, could she accept his world willingly? A battle of self against love, which do you think will win the war?

Devyn Quinn’s books are erotic and enticing, like a fine wine they get better as they progress. The characters were extremely well detailed, and the sex scenes, OH MY!! I loved that there was a touch of romance to this vampiric tale, he actually did peruse her with roses and nice words before jumping in bed with her. Devyn Quinn writes novels that are hot enough to melt ice, this one will make you sweat! 5 Hearts
