Ok you’re seeing the authors name right, don’t question it because I don’t have the answer. Yes… My Retarded Ass Signed Up is an acronym of US ARMY spelled backwards, it is the story of one Michael Mayhew’s five month experience in the ARMY beginning Jan. 5, 2003.

Michael Mayhew enjoys women and drugs at home as well as in the ARMY. He was 28 years old before he actually enlisted, looking for his adventure. He still continued to smoke weed, and partake in the females when it was available to him, but he also made a friend out of an enemy. Well, he and Peterson weren’t enemies, they just didn’t get along too well at times, but they ended up being good friends. Michael learned what it was like in basic training, he knew not to mess with the Drill Sergeants, and he learned what it was like to actually experience the ARMY first-hand.

Yes… My Retarded Ass Signed Up by M!ichael Mayhem is a real man’s book. I don’t think it would appeal to women at all; at least it didn’t to me. It was more of a journal or even a manual for what goes on in the ARMY, complete with a dictionary of jargon used between soldiers. There were some major editing flaws, correct word usage, and grammatical errors that needed to be corrected before publishing. I have to say I love to read biographies or anything that has to do with the military, but Yes… My Retarded Ass Signed Up, was just not the book for me, I kept waiting for something exciting to happen and for me, it just didn’t. He also says Introducing the most dangerous book in America… I would strongly disagree. 2 Hearts
