Mendel J. Orion, writer of science fiction is a dreamer and award winning author, albeit he is missing something; love. He wants to have that special someone there to love him, not that silly Sandra Wilford that kept chasing him around like a lost pup. Mendel wants the woman of his dreams, which also happens to be the main character in the book he is writing at the present time.
Things begin happening, coincidences that seem much too surreal to be normal. The thunder storms after the “experiment” on Aira and Onx, the runaway dog in the hotel that could have possibly let a trickle of smoke rise from its nostril, or maybe the woman that is in his hotel bathroom suffering from amnesia; she looks unremarkably like the sketch of his main character Aira. And with the resemblance, he names her after the character in his book, and as for the strange dog he also names it Onx after Aira’s sensor-mate in the story.
He is not crazy after all, or is he? Who is in whose world? Has Mendel been drinking too much and lost all sense of what is going on…or is this Aira something, or better yet someone that was not manifested in the lone drunken writers mind? A twist and travel through space and time may or may not be what it seems!
Vanna Bonta’s novel Flight was my first Quantum Fiction review, the book was rather intriguing and very scientific as well as science fiction intermingled with fantasy. I found this to be an enjoyable read, the main character Mendel had such personality I felt his emotions much more than Aira’s. Ms. Bonta has a knack for storytelling, and I do have to say that I am impressed! Some parts were a little confusing but, I will certainly further my knowledge into this world of Quantum Fiction. 4 Hearts

The Obsidian Key by Eldon Thompson
The Obsidian Key written by Eldon Thompson is an action packed fantasy novel that is sure to keep you enthralled.
Following the now King Torin on his adventure to rediscover a people that had been rumored to no longer exist many years ago, you are in for a wild ride. After his retrieval of the Crimson Sword in book one of The Legend of Asahiel series, Torin has accidently unleashed a horror that had been locked away and is now rising to wreak havoc on his world.
When a robed figure appears in Torin’s room looking of death itself, he learns there is a new adventure laying in wait for him. He must do his part to right the world, and with the help of a renegade Entinent, his betrothed’s father. This task however will not be easy, especially with spies around each and every corner; some are even his own men…one in particular seeks to have the crown for himself.
With a shocking and totally unforeseen ending, The Obsidian Key is phenomenal! Mr. Thompson has a way with words and with them, he paints a picture before the reader. Usually not much into fantasies, I have to say this is one of the best I have read, I look forward to book three of The Legend of Asahiel Series! 4.5 Hearts

Time Adjusters and Other Short Stories by Bill Ectric *print book*
Step into the world of the bizarre, strange, horrific, and just plain weird! Time Adjusters and Other Stories by Bill Ectric is a collection of eerie tales that can truly boggle the human mind. Mr. Ectric masters the world of the strange combining a sort of sick humor into some of the stories, as well as lessons to be learned in others. Bill Ectric is a fantastic storyteller; now take a step into his mind.
All of these short stories hold a place in my memory but I can only focus on a few so as not to give too much away. The first story is called The House and The Baboon. I swear to goodness I laughed so much at the weirdly detailed story! It involves a couple of bored men getting doped up and drunk while waiting on the Sears plumber, and hashing a plan to shove the Sears catalog up his rear and blame it on the ghosts. Then the red-assed baboon, Cherub from the storyteller’s past reappears and then it gets a little strange as a feeling of lethargy sets in.
The next awe-inspiring story was titled Quack. A man always dressed for fishing visits his doctor again because he says a duck is growing out of his rectum. The doctor waves it off and refers him to another doctor; a few years later a team of animal control specialists try rescuing a duck from the lake, only to have a similarly dressed man bobbing underneath.
And the last story that I will tell you about is called The Little Robot. A little boy is in a child care service while his parents were arrested and he was allowed to have two gifts given to him by his parents. A robot from his father that had cool gadgets, and a rosary from his mother. The Head nurse did not like the fact the little boy used the rosary and decided to have it taken away. She also ended up taking the robot because it scared a little boy one night; he had to trade the rosary to get the robot back. But that did not stop him from holding on to his faith. With every now quiet button and every action the toy robot performed the boy said his prayers.

Snow Hill by Joseph McGee *print book*
Snow Hill, Massachusetts was a relatively quiet town up until recently. Murders began happening one at a time, then one day four murders in the same home, the next quite a few Snow Hill residents had just vanished. Ah, but vanished is the wrong word, lets try tortured, mutilated, sliced up, and even desexualized. And Jack Stoughton and his partner Rebecca Strong of the Snow Hill Police Dept. were assigned to this case.
Kyle and Kennedy were childhood friends. Kennedy could always count on Kyle to be there for her when her father abused her. One day while they were in high school, her father went too far. Kyle moved Kennedy in with him and their friendship went to a whole new level. But that was just the beginning of horrible things to come. After receiving the news of both sets of parents were killed in a car accident, and were no longer safe from the eight foot tall monster from Hell, they stayed with Jack and Rebecca.
All of the murders were somehow linked with the Snow Hill country club. It was Jack’s job as an officer to discover what the owner Mr. Miller was hiding. Too bad Kyle sneaked out first to take matters into his own hands; it could very well get him killed. Mythical creatures, other worlds, and a book called Necromancer was just the sort of evil looming inside the town of Snow Hill…who will make it out alive?
Snow Hill by Joseph McGee is a bad dream scrawled maniacally across the pages. Blood, gore, and just the sinister way Mr. McGee has with his words is enough to make you shiver. I honestly admit to having nightmares after only reading halfway through Snow Hill. It was a horror novel that I am not likely to forget anytime soon. 5 Hearts

The Little Candy Breathing Dragons by Gloria Clark Illustrations by Bobbi Switzer *print book*
The Little Candy Breathing Dragons is a delightful Children’s book filled with niceties and friends. Two sister dragons that breathed the smell of candy canes instead of fire decided to go on an adventure for the day. Along the way they met many new friends and rescued them in their time of need.
But when the two little dragons get lost on their adventure they are gifted with warm advice from a wise owl to help them return to their home. No good deed goes un-noticed, and if you help someone during a difficult time, it is sure to return to you in kind. This adorable book also introduces how to be a Good Samaritan, mentions the loving nature of God, and rhymes all the way through.
Gloria Clark has written a remarkable children’s book that is wonderful to read at bedtime, naptime, or any time in between. Illustrator Bobbi Switzer graces each page with a beautiful brightly colored picture of the dragons and friends they meet along the way. I think Gloria and Bobbi are a wonderful team and I will be sure to keep an eye out for them in the future. My only fault is sometimes I got a little tongue twisted but my little one thought that was funny, so that as well adds a little humor to The Little Candy Breathing Dragons. 4 Hearts

Naughty by Nature by Barbara Pierce *print book*
Patience Winlow was many things, but one thing she would not claim was her birth given last name; Farnaly. After foolishly falling for an older man that continuously kept the truth shielded from her, she finally realized what was really going on the day he tried to drug her and send her off to be a whore. That was the day Julian Phoenix died. It was much too late to go back to the family that renounced her, and with Julian Phoenix dead she must continue traveling with the players from her troupe.
Lord Ramscar was smitten by this blond spitfire of a girl that was performing at a party thrown by his regal friends the Lord and Lady Powning. She had a free spirit and an addictive way about her. Being known as one of the les sauvages nobles, he was no stranger to women; Patience was the new jewel that caught his eye. And he would have her no matter what!
Patience knew that Lord Ramscar was intrigued by her from the night before but never did she expect him to send a coachman for her to be taken back to his home. Upon arriving she is asked to be a ladies companion to his sister Meredith. After a house fire many years ago, Meredith was left scared, resulting in low self esteem and refusing to leave their home to go to London to celebrate her birthday.
The meeting of the two ladies was touchy at first, but Ramscar knew if anyone could get Meredith introduced into polite society, it would be his Patience. He just never expected to fall head over heels in love with her. He has no idea of her past, but is about to realize the past does not always stay behind a person...sometimes it waits just in the future to reveal its ugly head.
Once Patience’s secrets are all out on the table, will the dashing Lord Ramscar throw her out of his home and his heart? What about Lady Meredith and her embarrassment of the scars…will she agree to this trip to London? Will it be as horrendous as she expects? So many unanswered questions but read this book to discover the answers.
Barbara Pierce’s historical romance Naughty by Nature is breathtakingly sinful! I was entranced from the prologue and could not put this book down. Ms. Pierce pens a tale of tragedy, love and lust that will captivate the reader. If you are looking for an unforgettable book, then go get Naughty by Nature right now! I guarantee you will fall in love with her characters! 5 Hearts

Woman In Black Lace by Carolina Valdez *ebook*
Phebe Jones was your average woman looking for a man, but too scared to put herself on the line and approach one. All that would change the night of the masquerade when she put on that black low backed dress. She was on the hunt for a man, and when she saw him walking down the stairs in a kilt, that was it…bring on the seduction.
The man known as Cam Ross invited her to his room, but she would not make it. Phebe would be time traveling back into the 18th century and seducing the man in the room in which she appeared. He looked close enough to Cam, but in the light of day after a miraculous night of lovemaking, she would see it was not the Scot from last night; it was his ancestor, Alistair Alexander Charles Cameron James Ross.
Neither could keep their thoughts or hands off one another. But with her sudden appearance, that made a few of the ladies with eyes for Alex, very angry. One even wished her kidnapped. After a battle, falling in love, and even getting married, Phebe was content to stay back in time with her man Alex. On her wedding night she would be tossed back into the year 2008…can she ever get back to the one man that she loves with all that is in her heart?
Carolina Valdez has penned an extraordinary erotic tale of time travel mixed with love and sexy Scotsmen that wear nothing under that kilt. Woman In Black Lace is highly sensual and will get your heart thumping! The novella was a very fast paced read and I highly recommend it! 5 Hearts

The Spanish Game by Douglas Quinn *print book*
Jennifer Ellis now eight years later after the hijacking of the plane in Spain, is all grown up, kicking butt and taking names. Conservatively working at the Smithsonian, she should be working with the F.B. I., after a man from her past, Eduardo Costa aka Ernesto de Rivera shows up out of the blue. She finds it odd that he would run from her, and instead of just leaving it alone, Jennie followed him and made things a little more difficult for herself.
Ernesto’s family was brutally murdered by El K’kah after the hijacking when Henry Ellis let him escape to finish off some “old” business. Ernesto was commissioned to do one thing, but then he was free to settle the score with a couple of men from his past, including El K’kah, and the Ellis’. The priests are even on the wrong side of the law, and continue to help Ernesto finish his business. So far he has been one step ahead eluding the police and F.B.I. but how long can he keep up his little game of hide and seek?
Jennie, Henry, and two officials, Agent Fontaine and Agent Savall, were about to be stuck in the middle of a gun war. Ernesto was not the only one trying to kill off the Ellis’ someone else had a personal vendetta as well! The real shocker is, where has Jennie’s brother Theo been in the past 8 years?
Douglas Quinn’s The Spanish Game is my all time favorite so far out of all of his novels that I have read. Action-packed, thrilling, and explosive this one is a winner! A great stand alone novel; enough info is given to relate the story to The Catalan Gambit so that you can follow from the beginning eight years ago. There better be another book in this series or else I am going on my own hunt for a Mr. Douglas Quinn! 5 Hearts

The Catalan Gambit by Douglas Quinn *print book*
The day that will forever be etched into his mind could possibly be the worst moment of his life. Henry Ellis’ two children, Theo and Jennie, were on a school trip to Spain with the rest of their class when the plane was taken over by lethal hijackers. This is only the beginning of the horror. Throughout his journey to stop the terrorists and save his children he learns of a history that has been keeping itself hidden for just this occasion.
Nothing is as it seems, everyone is double crossing the other, old family friends are the enemy, and innocent children are suffering at the expense. The original plan was to exchange himself for Theo and Jennie, but that went horribly wrong.
Now, Henry is put in a position that he can not refuse, if he does, death could be his punishment; then who would save his children?
What do these terrorists want? Why are so many people involved that just don’t seem to fit in this scenario? Twists and turns and even a couple upside down flips will keep you glued to the pages of The Catalan Gambit.
Douglas Quinn, is a phenomenal writer of mystery/suspense. His novel The Catalan Gambit is addictive and all too real. Detailed words bring forward vivid images, thrusting you right into the action of the story! Mystery lovers will never see the explosive end coming…until it hits you! 5 Hearts

Blackout by Dara Edmondson *ebook* Release March 3
Kendra had to hear the betraying truth from the lips of the “other woman” as she eavesdropped on a conversation by the water cooler of her job. The lazy filthy man that was her boyfriend, Tommy didn’t even have the nerve to break up with her before whisking another woman away for the Memorial Day weekend.
The women referred to her as a cold fish, and frigid because she had held out on having sex with Tommy. She had heard that expression one to many times and was beginning to believe it; that is until she met the hunky Hispanic maitenence man Jorge. A couple physically attracted to each other trapped in an elevator in the middle of a thunder storm can really get hot and heavy really quickly.
Blackout by Dara Edmondson is an erotic teaser that will make you want your own hunky maintenance man to be locked in the elevator with during a thunder storm. Blackout is hot and steamy, a sizzling read! 5 Hearts

The Pirates of Sufiro by David Lee Summers *print book*
The legendary space pirate, Ellison Firebrandt would one day be forced to stop pirating by his own mother. She would give him the choice of being arrested, or he must settle down on another planet. Ellison chose to settle on a planet that was uninhabited with the only crew that Admiral Barbara Firebrandt left him. Carter Roberts, his lieutenant, and Suki, his lover were all destined for the same fate of isolation.
Isolation on the planet they called Sufiro would be the beginning of a new life. Suki gives birth to a daughter they all nickname Fire, and later Suki is suddenly killed by a poisonious insect. Roberts and Ellison raise Fire to be her own person, and when the time comes for Fire to explore the galaxy and start a life of her own, he will not object, he does not want her to feel the way he does toward his mother.
In the meantime Sufiro is becoming more settled with people looking for a new life. Some are perfectly happy being farmers; others come to be more greedy. Wrecking all of the dreams that Ellison pictured for his planet. It will come down to Fire’s son, and the help of his pirate grandfather and a few others, to settle the war forming on Sufiro. Yes, even in space…war is possible.
The Pirates of Sufiro by David Lee Summers is a trip into a whole other galaxy. Action packed adventure, and well thought out story line, make this novel a pleasure to read.
Mr. Summers has a knack for penning out of this world science fiction, sometimes it was a little hard to follow, but it came together beautifully in the end. 4.5 Hearts
